Hello,
I am a 41 year old entrepreneur living in Massachusetts. I am co-founder of a software company; my professional areas of expertise are in Mathematics and Computer Science.
I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Rochester Institute of Technology (1990). I was a terrible student in terms of grades, in large part due a slightly autistic configuration of my brain which was unheard of at the time. Nonetheless, the good and kind faculty of RIT encouraged my mathematical knack and writing, inviting me to work with them on their own research, taking me out for beer and chicken wings. I did manage a 254 rank on the putnam exam, a mention in the AMM for a correct proof of a posed problem. I was urged to go to graduate school but at that time there was no extant understanding of the autistic spectrum. (For example, I am unable to think while another person is talking, so cannot learn from a lecture.)
So I graduated and started doing software for US Defense, moving into AI and emerging web stuff around Cambridge, MA.
About me : I love to write, am passionate about truth, and consider it more important to be kind than to be right. I have great hope for collaborative projects which make it possible to bring all knowledge to every human, everywhere, at no charge. Towards this end, I also support the One Laptop per Child program (http://laptop.media.mit.edu/).
I have particular interests in : the autistic spectrum, mathematical logic and physics.
I was an active contributor to wikipedia for 1.5 years. Now I'm looking for a different type of forum.
