Dirk van der Merwe comes from South Africa and studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch. He did his masters in Industrial Engineering after that at the same university. After university he joined Reutech Radar Systems as a software engineer where he worked on SALT (South African Large Telescope). His hobbies and interests include history, mountain biking, Africana, project management and enterprise design.
