My name is Janssen (or, as people call me, J.P.) Kirby. I am a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, Canada. I still live in Fredericton and currently hold a job in the IT field. I am also a volunteer news reader with VoicePrint Canada, which reads newspaper and magazine articles for the vision impaired.

My interests include local and Canadian geography and history, politics, sports, communications and transportation. One of my websites, http://www.the506.com/nflmaps, has been featured on Yahoo! and in the Los Angeles Times.

I was a Wikipedia editor between 2002 and 2006, but grew frustrated with the increasing bureaucracy there.
