I was born in Ithaca, New York. Until age 11 I lived in Rocky Hill, New Jersey, then for a year in Chesterfield, Missouri. At about age 13 I moved with my family to Palo Alto, California, where I attended Jordan Junior High and Paly High. I read books avidly throughout elementary, junior high and senior high.My favorite teachers were Mrs. Ross, Mrs. McGlashan, Dr. Pukas, Dewey Johnson, Mr. Parker, Mrs. Schmidt, Mr. Tyler, Mr. Bross, and Mr. Faubion. I went to college at UC Davis where I took many different courses, especially electronics and math. I got my B.S. in math from UC Davis in 1999, and an MA in math from CSU Sacramento in 2006. Some of my best teachers in college were [H Weiner, G T Sallee, D B Fuchs(UCD math)], and [L Corrucini, G Erickson(UCD physics)], and [G Ford, J N Churchill, W Current(UCD electronics)], and [S Farrand, H Hamilton, G Shannon, W Etterbeek, K Zhou, and unofficially, Tom Schulte, R Leezer, J Gehrmann, B Morris, and S Jordan.(Sac State math)]. My best teachers of all are my parents, C C and J W Peterson of Palo Alto. Right now I'm a substitute teacher in Elk Grove. I used to work in retail and restaurants. Personal:I'm a vegetarian. Outside work I spend my time with friends and I keep trying to understand math, especially number theory, geometry, group theory, Galois theory, and matrices, including the geometry of matrices.
