Ms. Embrey is a historian and librarian.
She has worked in libraries and museums for over 15 years in Illinois.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in History and English and a Masters in Library and Information Sciences from Rosary College (now Dominican University). She has completed additional coursework in history at the University of Illinois at Chicago and computer science at Roosevelt University. She is currently a Ph.D. student in Public history/American history at Loyola University Chicago, where her current research interests are the American Civil War, early Native American relations with Europeans, and women in the military.
She has presented and had published over 25 articles on technology in libraries. She has also presented articles at conferences of interest to historians on topics ranging from the English Civil War to A.E.F. units in France during World War I.
