Teaching posts at secondary schools and universities include philosophy, theology, languages, linguistics, and also maths, physics and English.
Two great passions: Linguistics and Classics. Specific interests are historical linguistics, concentrated on Proto-Indo-European, and in Classics the works of Homer, Horace and Virgil.
Currently retired, but working part-time for the Open University, teaching Classics, Religion and a course on Death and Dying.
