Welcome to the Citizendium! We hope you will contribute boldly and well. Here are pointers for a quick start, and see Getting Started for other helpful "startup" links, our help system and CZ:Home for the top menu of community pages. You can test out editing in the sandbox if you'd like. If you need help to get going, the forum is one option. That's also where we discuss policy and proposals. You can ask any user or the editors for help, too. Just put a note on their "talk" page. Again, welcome and have fun! Great to see you get to work Hans David Tribe 06:40, 25 January 2007 (CST)

Hi Hans,

I see you're importing lots of articles from Wikipedia. This is great, but I'd like to encourage you to do this only if you intend to develop the articles further here on CZ. Please don't import an article and then just let it sit idle...

Also, bear in mind that all of these need to be cleaned up. Templates need to be removed, particularly the self-referential ones like {{More sources|date=November 2006}}, and so do categories. We haven't settled on how to deal with categories.

Also, [[Category:CZ Live]] needs to be added to all the imports that you're going to work on.

Finally, can you please do me a favor and send a mail to [email protected] reminding them that the following is a TOP PRIORITY: ordinary contributors (not just developers) absolutely MUST have a way to mark individual articles as being sourced from Wikipedia or not. This needs to be a checkbox, easily trackable by the database, and not a template.

(I say this because all your WP imports are not properly credited to Wikipedia--which is something we must keep track of.)

Again, welcome and thanks! --Larry Sanger 10:23, 25 January 2007 (CST)
