Anita Biressi is Reader in Media Cultures in the Department of Media, Culture and Language at the University of Roehampton, London, UK.

Her research interests include: documentary and popular factual programming, popular journalism, crime and law and order, class difference in contemporary British culture and gender and political voice.

Her new book written with Heather Nunn is entitled Class and Contemporary British Culture (2013 Palgrave Macmillan). Anita is currently writing a new book with Heather Nunn called Politics Interrupted: Gender, Citizenship and Disruptive Voices (Rowman and Littlefield International 2015). She is also starting a new project with Heather focusing on political discourses of selfishness in times of austerity.
