I feel that none of the options are good, but that the column-based one is marginally better. The stylesheet looks like Win95, though.

I prefer to have all the "navigation stuff" always appear in the same place - across the top works for me, and is in keeping with the Wikimedia software "house style" (at least as used by authors/editors/admins). The vertical one, I think, does look better - but I think would lead to formatting problems on some articles as images get inadvertantly pushed down the page. - I much prefer the horizontal tabs look - but know little about any functional differences between them. To my eye, the horizontal tabs make sense. My ideal choice is not on offer - same tabbed look, but arranged vertically down right hand side of page - exactly like a paper encyclopaedia. --Ian Johnson 17:02, 22 August 2007 (CDT)
It was noted (by Chris, the designer) that there is virtually no functional difference between the two. Aleksander Stos 03:59, 23 August 2007 (CDT)
- Thanks Alexander, I have had no CZ time of late, so had missed that fact - and that resolves my preference in favour of the horiz tabs look then. --Ian Johnson 17:55, 23 August 2007 (CDT)
