I graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1964 and went on to study the history of ideas at St. John's College in Annapolis. In 1966 I met the philosopher Paul Rosenfels and became a proponent of humanistic psychology. In 1973 Paul and I founded the Ninth Street Center and I began editing the Ninth Street Center Journal. In 1990 I published "We Knew Paul: Conversations with Friends and Students of Paul Rosenfels" (www.amazon.com/dp/0932961096). Since 1997 I have served as Secretary of the Paul Rosenfels Community (www.rosenfels.org).
As a student of Paul Rosenfels I learned that the Enlightenment dream of a Science of Human Nature was still a crucial goal if civilization is to survive. I have studied the history of ideas all my life and believe my grounding in independent scholarship is sound and would be useful to Citizendium.
