I am currently working on a Ph.D. in Communication studies from Ohio University (Expected December 2008). I hold a M.A. in Interpersonal Communication from Ohio University (June 2003) and a B.S. in Speech Communication from James Madison University (May 2000). For all of my degrees, I have concentrated my studies on organizational communication. More specifically, I am interested in examining the intersections among work, self, and society. I seek to understand how our everyday material and symbolic practices affect our understandings and articulations of work and self in society today. I seek to help us grow into empowered and fully participating members of society by challenging our commonsense notions about communication and the intersections between work, self, and society.
I currently hold an academic appointment at Huntingdon College in Montgomery Alabama as an Instructor of Communication Studies. I am interested in contributing to our understanding of human communication and its impact on our organizational, relational, and public lives. I would like to see work group project that specifically deals with Human Communication or the discipline of Communication Studies.
