Physically I am better shape than most Men who might be twenty years younger than myself.

I have done a lot of research into health, fitness and delaying the aging process and I am a good advertisement for my health views. Photos on my website confirm this ; www.jimbernard.org

In my late teens and early twenties I was a voluntary youth worker/ social worker in the church which gave me a lot of understanding of the needs of under privileged people.

My family was in the building industry and when I was seventeen I decided to build a house on some land my widowed mother owned. After this house had been sold I took responsibility for renovating the home my Mother was living in, and in total there was probably in todays terms - half a million dollars involved. All completed before my eighteenth birthday.

After that I spent many years in the building industry but also developed an interest in literary matters which caused me to do a fair amount of writing . I am now reasonably well known as a writer and Poet.

But my involvement in both the building industry and social work, caused me to think about affordable housing for lower income people and I designed a new type of affordable housing estate which if adopted by governments would help solve the pressing need for affordable housing across the country. http://www.jimbernard.org/gpage12.html

At times I have been a candidate for federal parliament, so I have a lot of experience in those areas as well.
