Something about myself

My name is, of course!, Marco Bonavoglia; I'm Italian, 53, and have worked in the Italian Wikipedia for a while, but I was highly disappointed with the average quality of the articles. I hope CZ will prove that it is possible to have a free high quality encyclopedia. My background is physics at the university and software engineering afterwards, but I really don't think I'm going to write about that. My real area of expertise is chess and whatever is chess related. Today I'm much more a chess composer than a chess player; also I've been involved for a long time in chess variants and fairy chess.

As this is an English Encyclopaedia, I can also help in most Italian-related issues, especially about Milan and Lombardy where I live.

I think I will mostly check recent changes and make minor edits. My English is normally understandable, but it's not my mother tongue and I'm pretty certain that this is self-evident.
